  22. This strange and wonderful recipe appeared in our hometown paper's consumer
  23. column, for making doggie Christmas presents! Although they are meatless,
  24. they are not vegetarian, as they contain chicken broth. However, your
  25. dog is quite unlikely to be a strict vegetarian.

  41. Preheat oven to

  43. Combine, in a big bowl, the flours, cornmeal, milk powder, and salt.

  45. In a separate bowl, dissolve yeast in

  47. lukewarm water; let it sit for a few minutes, until it bubbles.

  49. Add the chicken stock to the yeast mixture. Mix well.

  51. Add the liquid to the dry ingredients.
  52. Knead about 3 minutes. The dough should be stiff.

  54. Flour a board with cornmeal and roll out the dough to a thickness of

  56. Cut out biscuits with cookie cutters in appropriate shapes, and place 
  57. on ungreased cookie sheets.  Mix the egg and milk and use to
  58. brush tops of biscuits (for shine), then bake the biscuits for 45 minutes

  62. Turn off the heat and leave biscuits in the oven overnight.
  63. This will make the biscuits be bone-hard.

  65. Though these are intended for dogs, people find them better tasting than
  66. many health foods.
